Periodontal Procedures

 1. Dental Scaling (Teeth Cleaning)

Purpose: Remove plaque, tartar, and surface stains from teeth and along the gumline.
Recommended for: Early gum disease (gingivitis), general oral hygiene.

 2. Deep Gum Cleaning (Scaling and Root Planing / Curettage)

Purpose: Treat moderate to severe gum disease (periodontitis).
Recommended for: When pockets form between teeth and gums (>3 mm depth).

 3. Flap Surgery (Periodontal Surgery)

Purpose: Treat advanced periodontitis where deep pockets are present.

Recommended for: Severe gum disease not responding to non-surgical treatments..
 

5. Gum Lightening (Gum Depigmentation)

Purpose: Lighten dark or blackened gums (often due to melanin or smoking).

Recommended for: Cosmetic reasons, especially in patients with high lip lines or visible gums when smiling.
